Overview
This course is suitable for students who wish to continue in full time education and gain a qualification in the field of Travel and Tourism. The travel and tourism industry is one of the fastest growing industries in the UK. The value of tourism to the UK economy is approximately £209 billion, and the sector employs around 4 million people. This course provides vocational study within the tourism sector and is recognised by employees in these fields. It also provides opportunities for learners to develop a range of skills and techniques, personal qualities and attitudes essential for successful performance in both academic and working life.

Requirements for Study
- APS 3.7 or above
- 9 - 4 in English Language or English Literature
Assessment
The assessment is a mixture of set coursework assignments/controlled assessment in the form of tasks set and marked by the board and Units 1 and 2 are assessed by an externally set exam paper. The work is graded, pass, merit or distinction and it is the combination of the marks for all the units taken that will determine the overall grade.
All BTEC equivalences carry the same amount of UCAS points as A levels
