T Level Childcare in Early Years

2024/2025

Overview

T Levels are new two-year courses equivalent to three A levels. T Levels are based on the same standards as apprenticeships, designed by employers, and will offer around 1,800 hours of study over two years.

The Level 3 Technical Qualification in Education and Early Years will provide students with the knowledge, skills and behaviours needed to progress into skilled employment or higher-level technical training or study in the education and childcare sector. Once you complete the course, you will have a licence to practice education and childcare in your career.

NCFE - T Levels


Requirements for Study

  • APS 3.7 or above
  • 9-4 in English Language or English Literature
  • 9 - 4 in Maths

Assessment

The core components are assessed through:·       

  • 2 written examinations (Paper A and Paper B
  • An employer-set project (ESP) – a supervised project, devised and set by NCFE

The Occupational Specialism is assessed through synoptic assignments


Careers

This course is designed to help you get into employment. You could progress to become a:

  • Early Years Practitioner
  • Early Years Educator
  • Primary/Secondary/Tertiary Teaching

You could also progress onto university or higher education to further your learning, depending on your goals. You could also progress on to an apprenticeship.
