Who? What? Where? When? Why? and How? Are questions asked by inquisitive minds. Geography is all around us, how we shop, when we travel, what we do day to day, who does what, is all geography. The more we ask these questions to each other or to ourselves the more we learn about the world in which we live.
Year 8 Geographers this term have been exploring how we use energy and the impact that has on the environment, and the possible solutions to the problems created. One of the solutions is renewable energy, however there are problems associated with these too. So we set out to investigate where we might be able to put solar panels on the school, why locations are ‘good’ or ‘bad’ locations and the practicalities of implementing these. The students really enjoyed the project and although many came up with different solutions they were all able to justify their choices and present their ideas, well done year 8, keep up the good work.
