8 years of Tree Planting came to an end as the project to regenerate the Heartwood Forest in St Albans finishes. In the course of that time over 60,000 trees have been planted – we haven’t done all of those! But we have probably planted well over 1,000.
Conditions haven’t always been the best – frost, snow, rain and mud as the trees are always planted in either November or March – but this time it was very pleasant and with help of a power augur 3 students, Mr Willis and Mrs Charalambous planted over 100 trees.
Well done team and also a big thankyou to Mrs Younger who has supported me in several of these expeditions.
The trees are saplings at the moment but in about 10 years time we should really be able to see the effect we have made
Happily digging holes were Alexandra Sharpe, Daniele Cerniauskaite (in the pink wellies) and Ayo Ogunjinrin.
