On Thursday 13th July we had 28 students remain at school (not taking part in the Work Shadowing Day) to participate in an exciting ‘Business and Enterprise Activity’ called ‘Roller Coaster Challenge’.
Designed by Onslow St Audrey’s Staff and delivered by Sixth Form Ambassadors, the students were invited to submit a design for a new white-knuckle ride at Alton Towers. Students were given limited resources and a time restriction to construct a model of the track, give the ride a name, create a poster and advertising slogan.
Students were then invited to demonstrate their model and carry out a short presentation in their teams. This activity encourages the following Employability Skills: Working with Others; Problem Solving; Creative Thinking; Project Planning; Communication and Time Management.
