Vice Chair of Governors
2nd November 2017
I have spent the whole morning in school visiting nearly all the classrooms and teachers. I did the visit with Mrs Casotti, looking at children’s books in each classroom – how are the teachers assessing the work? Do they give enough feedback in the right way? Are the children then reflecting on their work and reviewing it? It was interesting to see so many children and their books. They could all articulate DIRT time – which is when they take the teacher’s feedback and apply to the piece of work to improve it. I was very impressed with how calm all the lessons were and children were all engaged, I did not see any child misbehaving.
After the visits, I talked with Mrs Casotti and Mr Bird about where the school is now and where it will be next summer and how we are going to get there. A great morning’s visit.
