Onslow St Audrey’s School were delighted to welcome representatives from the Job Centre Plus to assist with the year 12 mock interview day on Friday 7th July. Prior to the day students were also asked to submit a winning C.V which they felt would secure them an interview in the near future.
On the day students attended a formal interview and were asked typical questions which I have listed below. After their interview they received individual feedback on their CV, and interview technique.
1. Tell me a bit about yourself.
2. What are you most proud of and why?
3. Which 3 words would your friends use to describe you.
“I was delighted to be involved with the event on Friday 7th July and to have the opportunity to gain an insight into how young people perceive their future career. I was very impressed with all of the applicants. Inevitably some were more confident than others and able to articulate their views and aspirations quite readily. However, even those who were less able to express themselves on paper or in the interview setting; were able with prompting to articulate the values and attitudes that one would hope to see in all people wishing to gain employment All of the students I met were smartly turned out, polite and appeared to take the process seriously. I congratulate them for making a positive impression and being fine ambassadors for your school”.
“The students took the day extremely seriously and it was surprising to see how nervous they all were as they waited for their interviews”.
